This film chronicles the legend of Ji Gong, a revered figure known for his wisdom and compassion. The narrative centers on his romantic entanglement and his heroic battle against a formidable dragon, an act undertaken to safeguard humanity. The plot unfolds with the introduction of a malevolent black dragon, whose destructive influence spreads disease across the land. This dark entity dispatches the tree demon Pu Kui with the objective of assassinating Li Xin Yuan, who is identified as the dragon's primary adversary. However, the mission takes an unexpected turn as Pu Kui finds herself moved by Li's inherent kindness, leading her to question her allegiance. As the dragon's power escalates, fueled by the pervasive despair of humankind, it makes its descent upon the mortal realm with the sole intention of annihilating Li Xin Yuan. In a poignant moment of self-sacrifice, Pu Kui gives her life, which in turn galvanizes Li Xin Yuan's determination to face the dragon in a final, epic confrontation between the forces of good and evil.
