JEDI JUNKIES

Cinemavixion Review

Mark Edlitz's 2010 documentary, "Jedi Junkies," offers an illuminating, and at times unsettling, exploration into the lives of the most fervent devotees of the Star Wars saga. The film navigates the fine line between passionate fandom and outright obsession, showcasing individuals whose lives are deeply intertwined with the galaxy far, far away. From the meticulous craftsmanship of custom lightsabers and the dedication of lightsaber martial arts practitioners to the creation of life-sized replicas and the embodiment of iconic characters, "Jedi Junkies" provides a compelling glimpse into the personal and professional expressions of these enthusiasts. While the film delves into the extreme end of fandom, it does so with an engaging curiosity, inviting viewers to consider the powerful impact of beloved franchises on individual identity and community.
