JASON SHERMAN'S INCREDIBLE JOURNEY

Cinemavixion Review

Jason Sherman's Incredible Journey, also known as My Tree, embarks on a deeply personal quest that quickly transforms into a profound ethical exploration. The documentary chronicles Sherman's search for a tree planted in his honor in Israel, a journey that unearths a complex history. Upon discovering that his tree stands on the grounds of a Palestinian village razed in 1967, Sherman confronts a new, more challenging path: understanding his role in the erasure of this history. The film masterfully navigates the personal and the political, urging viewers to consider the layers of responsibility and memory embedded in the landscape. It’s a powerful testament to how individual journeys can illuminate broader societal truths, prompting introspection and a critical examination of narratives often left untold.
