IT'S NEVER TOO LATE TO MEND

Cinemavixion Review

David MacDonald's 1937 drama, "It's Never Too Late to Mend," plunges viewers into the grim confines of a prison where an authoritarian administrator wields his power with merciless cruelty. The narrative builds tension as the oppressed inmates endure their torment, setting the stage for an inevitable confrontation. The film, starring the formidable Tod Slaughter, explores themes of justice and retribution within a stark, unforgiving environment. While perhaps less polished than its cinematic successors, this period piece offers a compelling, albeit grim, look at the darker aspects of institutional power and the human spirit's resilience in the face of overwhelming adversity.
