IT CAME UPON A MIDNIGHT CLEAR

Cinemavixion Review

Stephen Allen Gutierrez's "It Came Upon a Midnight Clear" plunges into the unsettling intersection of high school romance and brutal horror. The narrative follows Jeremy Adams, a senior whose pursuit of his dream girl, Amanda Lawton, takes a terrifying detour when she is abducted. What ensues is a desperate quest, propelled by Jeremy and his loyal friend Minka, to rescue Amanda from the clutches of a predatory serial killer. The film skillfully blends the anxieties of teenage life with the visceral dread of a chase thriller. Drew Pipkin, Jaeden Riley Juarez, and Katerina Rakosky deliver performances that anchor the story, navigating the emotional turmoil and escalating danger. While details on critical reception and awards are sparse, the film's premise offers a compelling, albeit dark, take on a seemingly ordinary night turned into a fight for survival.
