ISLAND OF THE DOLLS

Cinemavixion Review

Jack E. Bell's "Island of the Dolls" plunges viewers into the chilling legend of a remote island haunted by its macabre inhabitants. The film follows a group brave, or perhaps foolish, enough to confront the island's deadly secrets. While the narrative doesn't stray far from established horror tropes, it effectively builds a pervasive sense of dread, amplified by the unsettling imagery of the titular dolls. Beatrice Fletcher and Howard J. Davey deliver performances that anchor the mounting terror, guiding the audience through the unfolding mystery. Despite a modest IMDb rating of 2.5/10, the film's commitment to its atmospheric horror and its exploration of a truly unique and disturbing urban legend make it a noteworthy, if unsettling, watch for genre enthusiasts seeking a dose of the uncanny.
