INTO DUST: THE FIGHT FOR WATER

Cinemavixion Review

Orlando von Einsiedel's "INTO DUST: The Fight For Water" plunges viewers into the heart of Karachi, Pakistan, a city grappling with a critical resource crisis. This powerful documentary, based on a true story, centers on the courageous activism of Perween Rahman and her sister Aquila's subsequent investigation into her murder. The narrative masterfully intertwines personal tragedy with a broader socio-political struggle, exposing the exploitation of water rights that disproportionately affects the city's poor. Von Einsiedel crafts a compelling and urgent portrait of a woman who dedicated her life to justice and paid the ultimate price. The film serves as a stark reminder of the vital importance of water and the immense courage required to defend it against entrenched powers. It is a deeply moving testament to the fight for basic human rights and the enduring legacy of those who champion them.
