INTERSTATES

Cinemavixion Review

Corey Onerheim's "Interstates" plunges viewers into a near-future America that feels chillingly plausible. The film masterfully crafts a narrative around an escapist hacker and his technologically adept partner as they traverse a landscape increasingly defined by surveillance. Their journey is more than a physical crossing of borders; it's a profound exploration of friendship under duress and a burgeoning fight for personal autonomy. Onerheim, who also stars in the film, imbues the story with a sense of urgency, while Aaron Smargon and Charlotte Pines provide compelling performances that anchor the high-concept premise. "Interstates" is a thought-provoking piece that resonates with contemporary anxieties about privacy and freedom, offering a compelling, if stark, vision of digital-age independence.
