INTERSEX CHILDREN FORCED INTO BINARY GENDERS | INTERSEXION

Cinemavixion Review

This documentary, "Intersex Children Forced Into Binary Genders | Intersexion," bravely confronts a fundamental aspect of human identity often overlooked: the intersex experience. By highlighting that over 250 babies are born each minute, the film immediately grounds its exploration in a broad human context, before posing the critical question of what happens when the binary "boy or girl" fails to apply. The narrative delves into the complexities of intersexuality, defining it as a condition where a person's body doesn't align with standard male or female classifications. It illuminates the spectrum of over 30 prenatal conditions that shape sexual development, manifesting in diverse ways, from ambiguous genitalia to internal biological compositions that diverge from external appearances. This work serves as a vital educational tool, fostering understanding and empathy for individuals whose existence challenges conventional perceptions of gender.
