INTERMEDIUM

Cinemavixion Review

Erik Bloomquist's "Intermedium" offers a compelling exploration of connection and letting go, centered on an obsessive-compulsive teenager grappling with a spectral presence. The narrative skillfully weaves a tale of an unexpected bond forming between the living and the deceased, transforming a potential haunting into a poignant study of attachment. While the film delves into supernatural territory, its true strength lies in the nuanced portrayal of human (and perhaps, non-human) emotion, making the protagonist's struggle to sever ties both relatable and deeply affecting. The tight runtime ensures a focused and impactful viewing experience, leaving audiences to ponder the delicate balance between holding on and moving forward.
