INSIDE THE ONLY SURVIVING BRITISH WARSHIP TO BOMBARD THE NORMANDY COAST

Cinemavixion Review

This documentary offers an intimate and compelling look aboard the HMS Belfast, the sole surviving British warship to have participated in the Normandy landings. Host Rob Bell brings the vessel to life, providing a visceral sense of the power wielded by its formidable guns and the daily realities faced by its crew. From the traditional tot of rum to the cramped hammocks and distinct officers' quarters, the film immerses viewers in the ship's storied past. A particularly gripping segment recounts the pivotal Battle of North Cape, where the Belfast famously engaged and defeated the German battleship Scharnhorst, showcasing its crucial role in naval warfare. It's a fascinating journey into the heart of a floating piece of history.
