INSIDE PRISON TATTOOING

Cinemavixion Review

This documentary offers a raw and unflinching look into the clandestine world of prison tattooing. 'Inside Tattooing' delves beyond the superficial, presenting a compelling narrative woven from the personal accounts of those who have lived behind bars. Through intimate interviews with former inmates and gang members, the film explores the profound significance of these tattoos as potent symbols of identity, survival, and defiance in a system designed to strip individuals of both. The candid discussions also incorporate perspectives from wardens, adding a layer of complexity to the understanding of this unique subculture. The visual storytelling powerfully conveys the stories etched onto skin, transforming them into a language of resilience and remembrance.
