INNOCENT BEHIND BARS

Cinemavixion Review

This documentary offers a harrowing account of injustice, chronicling the true story of Ron Keine and his friends. What begins as a cross-country motorcycle journey of freedom and camaraderie takes a sharp, tragic turn when they are wrongfully accused of a violent murder in Albuquerque. Sentenced to death despite evidence placing them elsewhere, their fight for exoneration becomes a testament to resilience. The narrative highlights the crucial role of investigative journalism, as a reporter's efforts eventually bring their plight to light, leading to their release after two years on death row. While the film details Ron's eventual rebuilding of his life, it poignantly underscores the less fortunate fates of his companions, serving as a stark reminder of the devastating and lasting consequences of a flawed justice system.
