INHERITANCE

Cinemavixion Review

Vaughn Stein's "Inheritance" plunges into the dark underbelly of familial obligation and buried secrets. The film masterfully crafts an atmosphere of escalating dread as Lily Collins, in a compelling performance, grapples with a posthumous revelation from her powerful patriarch. Simon Pegg delivers a nuanced turn, shedding his comedic persona to embody a character burdened by weighty implications. The narrative skillfully weaves themes of legacy, betrayal, and the corrosive nature of hidden truths, keeping the audience on edge as the family's carefully constructed facade begins to crumble. Despite a challenging critical reception, as indicated by its Rotten Tomatoes score, "Inheritance" offers a potent, character-driven thriller that explores the devastating consequences when the past refuses to stay buried.
