INDIO

Cinemavixion Review

Antonio Margheriti's "Indio" presents a compelling, albeit somewhat familiar, narrative of environmental activism clashing with corporate greed. Starring the unlikely trio of boxing legend Marvelous Marvin Hagler, Francesco Quinn, and the ever-reliable Brian Dennehy, the film pits a half-Indian ex-Marine against a ruthless corporation threatening the rainforest. While the plot treads well-worn paths, the performances add a layer of grit, particularly Hagler in a surprisingly physical role. Margheriti, known for his genre work, crafts a serviceable action-adventure that, despite its 1989 origins, still resonates with contemporary ecological concerns. It's a solid entry for fans of direct-to-video action thrillers with a conscience, offering a straightforward, action-packed fight for survival and preservation.
