IN THE COUNTRY OF LAST THINGS

Cinemavixion Review

Alejandro Chomski's "In The Country Of Last Things" plunges viewers into a desolate, unnamed city teetering on the brink of collapse. This adaptation of Paul Auster's novel presents a stark vision of societal breakdown, following a determined young woman's search for her journalist brother amidst the chaos. Anchored by a compelling performance from Maria de Medeiros, the film navigates themes of survival, hope, and the enduring human spirit in the face of overwhelming adversity. With its dystopian atmosphere and thought-provoking narrative, "In The Country Of Last Things" offers a resonant exploration of a world teetering on the edge, earning a win and a nomination in its festival run.
