Joseph Kane's "In Old Cheyenne" (1941) is a quintessential Republic Pictures Western that delivers a familiar yet satisfying tale of mistaken identity and frontier justice. Starring the ever-reliable Roy Rogers as a sharp newspaper reporter, the film plunges into the heart of Cheyenne to investigate the alleged villainy of Arapahoe Brown. However, as is often the case in these classic Westerns, the truth is far more complex, and Rogers soon finds himself navigating a web of deception spun by the true antagonist.
