IN LIKE FLYNN

Cinemavixion Review

Russell Mulcahy's "In Like Flynn" offers a rollicking, if somewhat uneven, glimpse into the adventurous early life of the legendary Errol Flynn, predating his Hollywood stardom. Thomas Cocquerel steps into the iconic shoes, portraying a young Flynn as a charismatic rogue navigating the treacherous terrains of Southeast Asia and Australia. The film attempts to capture the spirit of adventure and the rough-and-tumble existence that forged the myth, with elements of action and drama woven into the narrative. While the plot summary suggests a deeper exploration of Flynn's less-than-savory exploits, the film's reception, as indicated by its mixed critical scores from IMDb and Rotten Tomatoes, suggests it may not fully satisfy all viewers. However, for those intrigued by the genesis of a cinematic idol and the allure of swashbuckling escapades, "In Like Flynn" provides a diverting, if not entirely definitive, portrayal.
