IN CASE OF EMERGENCY

Cinemavixion Review

Stefanie Kay Sparks directs and stars in "In Case Of Emergency," a 2017 comedy that endeavors to dissect the superficiality of modern ambition through the eyes of a Manhattan executive. Sarah Williams, portrayed by Sparks herself, embodies the quintessential New York success story – engaged to the right man, destined for elite social circles, and meticulously crafting an image of perfection. However, this carefully constructed facade crumbles after a jarring accident reveals the hollowness of her existence. The film's strength lies in its exploration of Sarah's awakening, aided by an unlikely confidante, as she confronts the manufactured nature of her life and grapples with what truly holds value. While drawing stylistic comparisons to "Bridesmaids," "In Case Of Emergency" offers its own take on the genre, urging audiences to consider the substance beneath the surface of societal expectations.
