IN A STRANGER'S HOUSE

Cinemavixion Review

This found footage horror offering, 'In a Stranger's House,' plunges viewers into the unsettling world of recovered digital media. Set in November 2017, the narrative revolves around a broken video camera and smartphone discovered in a recycling center, containing disturbing and inexplicable footage. Director Richard Waters crafts a chilling atmosphere, utilizing the found footage format to its full potential. The performances, particularly from the core cast, lend a disturbing authenticity to the unfolding events. While the film may not boast mainstream accolades, its commitment to a raw, visceral horror experience, reminiscent of 'The Poughkeepsie Tapes' and 'V/H/S,' makes it a compelling watch for aficionados of the genre. Its sparse runtime ensures a relentless pace, leaving a lasting impression of unease.
