IMMORTALITY

Cinemavixion Review

"Immortality" presents a compelling near-future dystopia where the very concept of eternal life becomes a burden of absolute control. The series, starring Yannick de Waal, Simão Cayatte, and Nicola Perot, delves into the complex dynamics of power and succession within a society of immortals. Sha Dishi's dictatorial reign, meticulously managing every facet of her people's existence, is challenged by an impending handover of power and simmering political dissent. The narrative expertly explores the philosophical implications of immortality, questioning whether endless existence, when dictated by a single authority, is truly a blessing. This French production, noted for its thoughtful exploration of societal structures and the human desire for freedom, offers a stark, engaging vision that lingers long after the credits roll.
