IL PRESIDENTE DEL BORGOROSSO FOOTBALL CLUB

Cinemavixion Review

Luigi Filippo D'Amico's "Il presidente del Borgorosso Football Club" is a delightful Italian comedy that captures the fervent passion of football fandom. Starring the inimitable Alberto Sordi as Benito Fornaciari, the film masterfully blends humor with social commentary. Sordi, a titan of Italian cinema, imbues his character with a relatable transformation from a reluctant, pious businessman to an almost fanatically devoted club president. The narrative skillfully portrays the colorful world of lower-league football, where the love for the sport transcends the ordinary. While the film may not boast major awards, its enduring appeal lies in its sharp wit, Sordi's charismatic performance, and its affectionate, albeit satirical, look at the heart of Italian sporting culture. A must-watch for fans of classic Italian cinema and anyone who understands the irrational, yet beautiful, devotion to a football club.
