In 'iGirlfriend,' director Dominick Brascia attempts a modern twist on the Pygmalion myth, casting Simon (Michael Flores), a quintessential high school geek, and his anxious friend Peg (Addie Yungmee) as the architects of a digital fantasy. Their creation, an iPhone app designed to simulate having desirable college girlfriends, unexpectedly manifests into a tangible, human form named Lily (Gina Hiraizumi). What begins as a technological prank quickly escalates, as Lily evolves into a personality far more complex and demanding than her creators could have ever anticipated. The film explores themes of artificial intelligence, digital identity, and the blurred lines between creation and reality, offering a contemporary, albeit somewhat cautionary, tale about the consequences of playing with technology and desire.
