IGIRLFRIEND

Cinemavixion Review

Scott Coones' 'iGirlfriend' presents a quirky teen comedy premise, exploring the age-old desire for companionship through a modern technological lens. The narrative follows a nerdy adolescent who conjures an iPhone app into a corporeal girlfriend, a concept ripe for comedic and cautionary exploration. While the film leans into the humorous chaos that ensues when artificial affection becomes dangerously real, it also touches upon themes of loneliness and the unintended consequences of unchecked ambition. Dalton Edward Phillips, Tony Vespe, and Kelsey Pribilski anchor the film with performances that navigate the blend of adolescent awkwardness and escalating peril. Though its reception, as indicated by IMDb ratings, may be mixed, 'iGirlfriend' offers a unique, albeit dark, take on the perils of modern dating and digital creation.
