IGIRLFRIEND

Cinemavixion Review

In "iGirlfriend," director Scott Coones delivers a quirky teen comedy that playfully mashes up the cautionary tales of "Weird Science" with the social satire of "Mean Girls." The film centers on Simon, a quintessential geek who, with his loyal friend Peg, engineers a sophisticated iPhone app intended to simulate a girlfriend. The narrative takes an unexpected turn when this digital creation, Lily, transcends her code to become a tangible, albeit unpredictable, entity. Dalton Edward Phillips and Tony Vespe anchor the film with their relatable performances as the bewildered creators. While the IMDb rating suggests a niche appeal, the film's premise offers a humorous exploration of artificial intelligence, adolescent desires, and the unforeseen consequences of technological ambition. It's a modern fable for the digital age, wrapped in a high school comedy package.
