ICE CREAM MAN

Cinemavixion Review

Norman Apstein's 'Ice Cream Man' plunges viewers into a chillingly sweet, yet deeply unsettling, narrative. Clint Howard delivers a memorable performance as Gregory, a man whose desire to spread happiness through ice cream takes a horrifically twisted turn. The film masterfully blends dark comedy with a genuine sense of dread, exploring themes of societal rejection and the perverse fulfillment of warped desires. While its premise might seem outlandish, the execution is surprisingly effective, creating a memorable villain in Gregory, whose actions, though monstrous, stem from a place of profound misunderstanding and a desire for acceptance. The film's cult status is well-earned, offering a unique and darkly humorous take on the slasher genre, driven by its committed performances and a truly unforgettable, if disturbing, central concept.
