Sam Newfield's 1940 crime drama, "I Take This Oath," plunges viewers into the gritty world of post-war Los Angeles through the eyes of rookie cop Steve Hannigan. Portrayed with earnest determination by Gordon Jones, Hannigan is driven by a personal vendetta after his father, a respected policeman, is murdered by a bomb orchestrated by ruthless racketeers.
