I PROTECT MYSELF AGAINST MY ENEMIES

Cinemavixion Review

Mario Amendola's "I Protect Myself Against My Enemies" plunges viewers into a gritty, sun-baked world of avarice and betrayal. Charles Southwood delivers a compelling performance as Alan Burton, a drifter whose path becomes entangled with a perilous quest for hidden Rebel gold. The narrative expertly weaves elements of classic Westerns with a thrilling treasure hunt, driven by the mystery of three distinctive two-headed gold pieces. Amendola masterfully builds tension, pitting Burton against the ruthless bandit El Condor, portrayed with chilling menace. The introduction of supporting characters like the resourceful Hondo and the hopeful Juana adds layers of humanity to the unfolding drama. While the film may not boast widespread accolades, its engaging plot and solid performances make it a noteworthy entry in the Western genre, offering a satisfying adventure for those seeking a tale of pursuit and buried riches.
