I AM SOLDIER

Cinemavixion Review

David Beton's 'I Am Soldier' plunges viewers into the brutal world of elite military training, focusing on the arduous journey of Mickey Tomlinson, portrayed with gritty determination by Tom Hughes. As a military chef secretly harboring extensive experience, Tomlinson attempts the near-impossible: SAS selection. The film unflinchingly depicts the physical and psychological toll of this process, from grueling marches across unforgiving terrain to the harrowing ordeal of interrogation. Hughes' performance anchors the narrative, conveying the immense pressure and resilience required to survive such extreme conditions. Supported by strong turns from Noel Clarke and Alex Reid, 'I Am Soldier' offers a compelling, if intense, look at the dedication and sacrifice demanded by the UK's most renowned Special Forces Regiment. It's a visceral exploration of will against overwhelming odds, demonstrating that only the truly elite can endure.
