I AM INNOCENT NZ

Cinemavixion Review

Andrew McCarthy portrays an unconventional science teacher in a quaint South Island town, whose peculiar methods ignite a spectrum of reactions among his students. While some are captivated by his unique approach, others harbor suspicions about his demeanor. The narrative takes a sharp turn when a routine examination of a habitually truant student breaches established protocols. Though initially addressed with a reprimand and an apology, this incident resurfaces two years later, triggering a formal investigation by child welfare authorities and the police into McCarthy's interactions with students. The film masterfully delves into the complexities of perception, the challenges of unconventional teaching, and the far-reaching consequences of seemingly minor transgressions within a close-knit community.
