HUNTED BY SHADOWS | NIGHTMARES OF THE DEEP

Cinemavixion Review

Jose Montesinos crafts a chilling dive into the subconscious with "Hunted by Shadows | Nightmares of the Deep." The film masterfully blends psychological suspense with the specter of loss, following a protagonist tormented by recurring nightmares after a traumatic encounter with a mysterious sea creature. These visions are not mere figments of imagination; they are potent manifestations of grief, haunted by the apparitions of her lost sister and partner. Montesinos, who also delivers a commanding performance, navigates these treacherous waters of memory and fear with a director's steady hand. The narrative probes the depths of the human psyche, exploring how unresolved trauma and lingering guilt can become relentless predators. For those drawn to atmospheric thrillers that delve into the complexities of loss and the enduring power of memory, this film offers a compelling and unsettling journey into the unknown.
