HUMANITY LAST: REFUGEES STILL HOPE

Cinemavixion Review

Molly Calliste's 2018 documentary, "Humanity Last: Refugees Still Hope," offers a stark and unflinching look at the humanitarian crisis unfolding at the France/UK border in Calais. The film dedicates itself to presenting the plight of refugees and the tireless efforts of volunteers with a commendable impartiality. Through an unfiltered lens, the documentary captures the raw realities faced by those seeking refuge and those striving to offer aid. The narrative, as presented, unfolds organically, mirroring the real-time events witnessed by the filmmakers. It is a powerful, albeit somber, testament to resilience and compassion in the face of adversity, encouraging viewers to confront a critical contemporary issue with empathy and understanding.
