HUGE MOVES - TRANSPORTING ANCIENT PHARAOH RAMESES STATUE ACROSS EGYPT

Cinemavixion Review

This installment of 'Huge Moves' delves into the monumental task of relocating ancient Egyptian temples from the encroaching waters of the Nile, a feat accomplished in the 1960s. The documentary highlights the extraordinary engineering involved in dismantling and reassembling structures like the twin temples of Abu Simbel and the temple of Amada. To illustrate these techniques, a modern team led by Jerry and Gabe Matyiko undertakes the challenge of moving a replica statue of Ramesses. The episode promises a captivating look at super-sized missions and the heavy hauliers who tackle seemingly impossible logistical challenges, drawing parallels to other colossal transportations like submarines and mega-yachts. It's a compelling exploration of human ingenuity applied to preserving invaluable history against formidable natural forces.
