H.P. LOVECRAFT'S WITCH HOUSE

Cinemavixion Review

H.P. Lovecraft's Witch House, directed by Bobby Easley, plunges viewers into a chilling narrative centered on Alice Gilman, a graduate student desperately seeking an escape from an abusive past. Her sanctuary is the infamous Hannah house, a historic dwelling steeped in ominous lore. Unbeknownst to Alice, her determination to explore alternate dimensions within the house's confines inadvertently opens a gateway to unimaginable horrors. Released in 2021 and running at a brisk 82 minutes, the film, despite a divisive critical reception with an IMDb rating of 2.6/10 and a Rotten Tomatoes score of 38%, has garnered 9 wins and 3 nominations. The film attempts to weave suspense and terror, drawing comparisons to atmospheric horror like 'The Babadook' and 'The Conjuring.' While its execution may have polarized audiences, it offers a unique, albeit dark, cinematic experience for fans of Lovecraftian themes and psychological dread.
