HOW THE CELTS CONQUERED ROME

Cinemavixion Review

This documentary delves into the fascinating and often overlooked history of the Celts and their complex relationship with the Roman Empire. It traces their evolution from prosperous traders along the Amber Road to a formidable military force, highlighting pivotal moments such as the sack of Rome in 390 BC under Brennus. The narrative explores the socio-economic shifts driven by climate change and the eventual pressures from encroaching Germanic tribes and the Romans, which led to the assimilation of Celtic culture by the first century BC. While specific dates for the Roman encounters and cultural decline are provided, the film leaves the viewer pondering the broader implications of these interactions on the shaping of ancient Europe. The examination of their strategic adaptations and eventual cultural dissolution offers a compelling perspective on the forces that shaped the ancient world.
