HOW HUMAN ERROR DESTROYED A MODERN CITY

Cinemavixion Review

This documentary compellingly dissects the catastrophic failure of New Orleans' levees during Hurricane Katrina. While the storm itself was a Category 3, the film meticulously illustrates how human error, specifically the construction of faulty and underbuilt defenses, transformed a natural disaster into an unprecedented urban tragedy. The narrative unfolds with a stark examination of the systemic breakdowns that led to the inundation of the city, resulting in an estimated US$150 billion in damages. It serves as a sobering reminder of the critical importance of infrastructure integrity and the profound consequences of engineering negligence in the face of nature's power. The detailed account of the levee failures offers crucial insights into disaster preparedness and urban planning.
