HOW GEOLOGY DETHRONED THE GODS

Cinemavixion Review

Dr. Iain Stewart embarks on a fascinating journey through the Mediterranean in "How Geology Dethroned The Gods," a series that masterfully intertwines the geological underpinnings of regions like Greece, Italy, and Portugal with the very fabric of human history and belief systems. Stewart, a seasoned geologist, offers a perspective far richer than any standard guidebook, revealing how the earth's crust has not only dictated the rise and fall of civilizations but also profoundly influenced their understanding of the divine and their place in the cosmos. The series compellingly argues that geological forces have been instrumental in shaping not just the landscapes we visit, but also the narratives of faith, from the dissemination of Christianity to our modern comprehension of prehistoric events like dinosaur extinctions. It's a compelling exploration that underscores the enduring power of geology in defining our past and present.
