HOW A CIA PILOT BECAME A DRUG TRAFFICKER FOR ESCOBAR

Cinemavixion Review

This documentary plunges viewers into the audacious life of Raymond Boulanger, a man whose trajectory from CIA-affiliated pilot to a notorious drug trafficker is as compelling as it is cautionary. The narrative unfolds through Boulanger's own defiant account, charting a course through high-stakes cocaine smuggling, intricate dealings with figures like Pablo Escobar, and perilous flights into the heart of Colombia's volatile landscape. His story is punctuated by dramatic prison escapes and encounters with Marxist rebels, painting a picture of a life lived perpetually on the edge. Despite decades of incarceration and the inevitable betrayals that accompany such a profession, Boulanger remains unrepentant, framing his criminal enterprise as a matter of professional execution. The film also offers glimpses into his personal life, revealing the profound impact his choices had on loved ones and even a poignant romance forged in exile. It presents a complex portrait of a man who views his existence as a high-stakes game, refusing to bow to remorse, solidifying his status as a figure of both infamy and legend.
