This peculiar independent film, "House Sitter: The Night They Saved Siegfried's Brain," ambitiously blends the aesthetics and themes of 1980s horror with 1950s science fiction. The narrative centers on Andy, a medical student whose fervent desire to advance science, particularly through his rat-to-rat brain transfer experiments, is met with a devastating setback. His dreams of studying at the renowned Reinhardt Institute are dashed when his final experiment goes awry, leaving his future uncertain and his living situation precarious. Unbeknownst to Andy, his mentor, Doc Crosby, harbors a dark secret: he is a mad scientist engaged in illicit brain harvesting to fuel his own desperate research. As Doc Crosby's own health deteriorates due to self-experimentation, he devises a sinister plan to secure the thirteen human brains necessary for his macabre "brain pyramid," setting the stage for a confrontation between idealism and mad science.
