HOUSE OF PURGATORY

Cinemavixion Review

Tyler Christensen's "House of Purgatory" plunges viewers into a chilling Halloween night where youthful bravado meets supernatural terror. The film masterfully crafts an atmosphere of escalating dread as four teenagers venture into a legendary haunted house, only to discover its sinister purpose. Unlike typical haunted attractions, this house preys on the deepest secrets of its visitors, turning their fears into a horrifying reality. The narrative expertly balances jump scares with psychological suspense, ensuring that the terror is not just superficial but deeply rooted in the characters' vulnerabilities. While the external data points to a 2016 release and a runtime of 75 minutes, the core of the film lies in its inventive premise and its effective execution of classic horror tropes, making it a compelling watch for fans of the genre seeking a fresh, unsettling experience.
