HOPPY SERVES A WRIT

Cinemavixion Review

George Archainbaud's "Hoppy Serves a Writ" plunges viewers into the dusty trails of the Lone Star State and beyond. William Boyd, in his iconic role as Sheriff Hoppy, navigates a complex jurisdictional challenge, venturing into Oklahoma to apprehend outlaws led by Tom Jordan. The narrative cleverly employs a cattle-buying ruse, highlighting Hoppy's resourcefulness as he strategizes to lure the criminals back into Texas territory. Boyd's performance, alongside Andy Clyde and Jay Kirby, anchors this Western tale with a blend of grit and cleverness. The film masterfully balances the pursuit of justice with the limitations of law and order across state lines, offering a compelling glimpse into the era's frontier justice. Its straightforward plot and authentic Western atmosphere make it a solid entry for fans of the genre.
