Cinemavixion Review

"Honor Killings: Conservative Father Kills Two Teenage Daughters" offers a harrowing and deeply affecting look into the tragic murders of Amina and Sarah Said. This award-winning documentary meticulously reconstructs the lives of the two teenage sisters, culminating in the chilling premeditated "honor killing" orchestrated by their father, Yaser Said. The film distinguishes itself by unearthing previously undisclosed details, including allegations of prior violence by Yaser and the long-term abuse endured by the daughters. Central to the narrative is the poignant voice of Amina Said, conveyed through intimate home videos, emails, letters, and diary entries. Her perspective transforms the documentary, revealing not just the girls' desperate struggle for freedom but also an extraordinary love story that transcends even death. The film serves as a somber yet vital testament to the victims, prompting a profound re-evaluation of assumptions surrounding this devastating case.
