HIS NAME WAS KING

Cinemavixion Review

Giancarlo Romitelli's "His Name Was King" plunges viewers into a gritty, sun-baked world where a lone bounty hunter pursues a dangerous band of gunrunners into the heart of Mexico. Released in 1971, this Western, starring the stoic Richard Harrison, Anne Puskin, and Goffredo Unger, offers a compelling narrative of pursuit and retribution. While the film may not boast widespread critical accolades, its straightforward plot and atmospheric tension provide a solid viewing experience for fans of classic spaghetti Westerns. The stark portrayal of the borderlands and the relentless drive of the protagonist create a palpable sense of urgency, making it a worthy discovery for those seeking genre fare with a straightforward, hard-boiled edge.
