HIGHWAY 395

Cinemavixion Review

Fred Dryer's "HIGHWAY 395" plunges viewers into the stark, unforgiving expanse of the Californian desert. Dryer, also helming and starring as Sheriff Wade, crafts a narrative steeped in the grit of law enforcement on a desolate stretch of road notorious for its criminal element. The film promises a tense trifecta of conflict: the ever-present threat of drug couriers, the disruptive return of a recently released convict, and the chilling shadow of a serial killer. This setup suggests a neo-western thriller where the vast, empty landscape becomes as much a character as the individuals navigating its dangers. "HIGHWAY 395" appears to be a character-driven piece, relying on Dryer's seasoned presence to anchor the story amidst escalating tensions and the inherent isolation of its setting.
