HEX

Cinemavixion Review

Set against the brutal backdrop of the English Civil War, "Hex" plunges viewers into a chilling encounter within a foreboding forest. The narrative skillfully pits two opposing soldiers against each other, only for them to be ensnared by a far more sinister force: a witch. This premise, executed with a palpable sense of dread, explores themes of conflict, isolation, and the supernatural. While the film may not boast extensive accolades, its strength lies in its atmospheric tension and the compelling performances from Tony Broadbent, Suzie Frances Garton, and Daniel Oldroyd, who anchor the supernatural horror with grounded portrayals. The directors, George Popov and Jonathan Russell, craft a visually striking and suspenseful journey that effectively taps into primal fears, offering a unique blend of historical drama and folk horror.
