HEROES AND THIEVES

Cinemavixion Review

Brett Bentman's "HEROES AND THIEVES" plunges viewers into a post-civil war Texas, a landscape scarred not just by conflict but by a pervasive sense of decay. The film follows a veteran's return home, only to confront a reality far more grim than the battlefields he left behind. Thom Hallum anchors the narrative with a performance steeped in the weariness of a man thrust into a desperate situation. The supporting cast, including Elizabeth Tabish and Robert Keith, effectively portrays the desperation and moral ambiguity of a community on the brink. Bentman crafts a gritty, atmospheric tale where the fight for survival transcends the battlefield, exploring themes of loyalty, disillusionment, and the enduring struggle for honor in a lawless land. It's a stark, character-driven drama that resonates with the harsh realities of its setting.
