HER BEST MOVE

Cinemavixion Review

Norm Hunter's "Her Best Move" offers a compelling look at the pressures faced by young athletes navigating the complex terrain of adolescence. The film centers on Sara Davis, a talented soccer prodigy whose dreams of joining the U.S. national team are tested by the demands of high school, burgeoning romance, and parental expectations. Leah Pipes delivers a nuanced performance as Sara, capturing both her on-field prowess and her vulnerability off the field. Scott Patterson and Lisa Darr provide solid support as the parental figures, embodying the well-intentioned but sometimes overbearing influence common in elite youth sports. While the narrative treads familiar ground, it does so with sincerity and a genuine understanding of the sacrifices involved in pursuing athletic excellence. The film successfully blends sports action with relatable coming-of-age themes, making it an engaging watch for families and sports enthusiasts alike.
