HEMISPHERE

Cinemavixion Review

"Hemisphere" plunges viewers into a taut, isolated thriller set against the stark backdrop of a remote mining outpost near Mercury. The narrative masterfully builds suspense as a pilot, sent by her ex-husband to investigate a deserted facility, uncovers a chilling scene of potential violence and a lone survivor. The plot thickens with the imminent return of ruthless hijackers, forcing an unlikely alliance between the pilot and the hidden crew member. Director Chris Maes, who also penned the script and stars in the film, crafts a claustrophobic atmosphere that amplifies the sense of dread and desperation. The performances, particularly from Paige Rion and Julie Kashmanian, effectively convey the mounting terror and the characters' resolve to survive. While the film leans into familiar sci-fi tropes, its efficient pacing and gripping premise make it a compelling watch for fans of contained, high-stakes thrillers.
