Phil Joanou's "Heaven's Prisoners" plunges viewers into the humid, morally ambiguous landscape of 1990s New Orleans, anchored by a compelling performance from Alec Baldwin as Dave Robicheaux. Baldwin embodies the weary detective who attempts to trade his badge for bayou tranquility, only to be inexorably drawn back into a violent underworld following a mysterious plane crash. The narrative, adapted from James Lee Burke's novel, masterfully intertwines personal tragedy with a gritty crime procedural.
