HEARTLAND HOMICIDE - RODNEY FANCHER

Cinemavixion Review

This documentary delves into the tragic 1985 murder of Rodney Fancher in Nashville, Michigan. Lured to his death by a false job offer, Fancher was found shot in a ditch on a deserted road. The investigation, initially hindered by the elusive identity of a suspect named "Rich Hoover," eventually unraveled a complex plot orchestrated by Anna Bouchard, the mother of Fancher's girlfriend, and Harold Stevens. Tony Hill was identified as the perpetrator. The case saw significant developments with the confession of Peggy Stephens, leading to life sentences for Tony Hill, Harold Stevens, and Peggy Stevens. Anna Bouchard's conviction was initially overturned but later reinstated after her cellmate's confession at a retrial. The series "Heartland Homicide" explores such narratives, shedding light on the intersection of big-city crime and small-town America, examining the lives affected, the motives behind the crimes, and the perspectives of those involved.
